The BHostin network ties together IP addresses with MAC addresses. This requires each virtual machine to have a static MAC address and a binding setup for an IP to that MAC address.

  1. Generate a unique MAC address for each virtual machine. We highly recommend avoiding using a similar MAC address as the host NIC as it may cause conflicts. You can use https://www.hellion.org.uk/cgi-bin/randmac.pl?scope=local&type=unicast to generate a MAC address.
  2. Associate the MAC address to a specific IP address within the dedicated server control panel . (Server > Server IP Assignment > Choose an IP from the drop down > Click "Use Custom" > Enter the MAC address > Save Changes).
